1. All-Purpose Kitchen Cleaner

Add 2 1/2 cups of water, 2 teaspoons of liquid castile soap, and 10 to 20 drops of lemon essential oil to a spray bottle for a fresh-smelling all-purpose kitchen spray.

2. Sticker Residue Remover

Just add undiluted lemon oil to a cotton ball to remove sticker residue or other gummy substances. (Test the surface with a tiny drop of the oil first to make sure the oil won’t damage it.)

3. Sink Disposal Freshener

Add ice cubes and a few drops of lemon essential oil to your sink disposal, run cold water, and turn the disposal on to both scour the blades and get rid of musty smells.

4. Refrigerator Cleaner

Add a few drops of lemon essential oil to a spray bottle of water, spray the shelves, and let the mixture sit a few minutes before wiping clean. Add one or two cotton balls with essential oil to the fridge to keep it smelling fresh.

5. Microwave Cleaner

Add 1 cup of water and 3 or 4 drops of lemon essential oil to a microwaveable bowl and set on the turntable. Microwave on high for three to four minutes and let sit for another few minutes to let steam penetrate. Unplug the microwave and use a wet cloth or sponge to wipe down the microwave’s interior.

6. Crayon Remover

Use a few drops of undiluted essential oil on a soft cloth or cotton ball to remove crayon marks from surfaces. (Test the surface with a tiny drop of the oil first to make sure the oil won’t damage it.)

7. Grease Remover

Mix 1 cup of water, 2 teaspoons of baking soda, and 10 drops of lemon essential oil in a spray bottle for a great grease remover for the kitchen.

8. Carpet Cleaner

For a carpet cleaner/freshener, thoroughly mix 2 cups of baking soda with 20 to 30 drops of lemon essential oil. Sprinkle it over carpet and let it sit a couple of hours (or overnight) before vacuuming up. (Test a small area first to make sure it won't harm your particular carpet.)

9. Air Freshener

Pour 3 ounces of distilled water to a small spray bottle. Add about 20 drops of lemon essential oil and 1 tablespoon vodka for a pleasant air freshener.

10. Wood Polish
